Old Testament Prophets tell of the coming Messiah
To us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his
shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting
Father, Prince of Peace. Isaiah 9:6
The virgin will be with child and will give birth to a son, and they will call him
Immanuel” – which means, “God with us.” Isaiah 7:14 and Matthew 1:22-23
In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man,
coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was
led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all
peoples, nations and men of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an
everlasting dominion that will not pass away. Daniel 7:13-14
Jesus asked, “Who do you say I am?” Simon Peter answered, “You are the Christ,
the Son of the living God.” Jesus replied, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah,
for this was not revealed to you by man, but by my Father in heaven.”
Matthew 16:15-17
Jesus said to the Jewish religious leaders, “My Father is always at his work to this
very day, and I, too, am working.” For this reason the Jews tried all the harder to
kill him; not only was he breaking the Sabbath, but he was even calling God his
own Father, making himself equal with God. John 5:17-18
Jesus answered, “I and the Father are one.” Again the Jews picked up stones to
stone him, but Jesus said to them, “I have shown you many great miracles from
the Father. For which of these do you stone me?” “We are not stoning you for any
of these,” replied the Jews, “but for blasphemy, because you, a mere man, claim to
be God.” John 10:30-33
After his arrest, the Jewish religious leaders all asked, “Are you then the Son of

Though the doors were locked, Jesus came and stood among them and said,
“Peace be with you!” Then he said to Thomas, “Put your finger here; see my
hands. Reach out your hand and put it into my side. Stop doubting and believe.”
Thomas said to him, “My Lord and my God!” Then Jesus told him, “Because you
have seen me, you have believed; blessed are those who have not seen and yet
have believed.” John 20:26-29
I [John] saw someone “like a son of man,” dressed in a robe reaching down to his
feet and with a golden sash around his chest. His head and hair were white like
wool, as white as snow, and his eyes were like blazing fire. His feet were like
bronze glowing in a furnace, and his voice was like the sound of rushing waters.
His face was like the sun shining in all its brilliance.
When I saw him, I fell at his feet as though dead. Then he placed his right hand on
me and said: “Do not be afraid. I am the First and the Last. I am the Living One; I
was dead, and behold I am alive for ever and ever! And I hold the keys of death and
Hades. ” Revelation 1:13-18
Jesus did many miraculous signs in the presence of his disciples which are not

Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name.
John 20:30-31
